Engineering and Maintenance Manager

Our client is a multinational manufacturing company in Thailand that specialises in animal health and nutrition, particularly food palatability. The company is always innovating and introducing new products and services. We are looking to hire an Engineering and Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for maintaining all equipment, industrial trucks, and plant facilities. This is a key role to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the plant, and is responsible for managing the maintenance staff, local engineering staff, plant projects, and outside contractors.

The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is charged with maintaining and improving teamwork and morale in a high-volume, high-pressure, non-union production environment, ensuring that results are delivered. Responsibilities ;

• Develop factory expense plans and implement projects; partner with corporate engineering staff for efficient project implementation
• Economic analysis, design and engineering, feasibility planning, equipment sourcing, capital appropriation development
• Execution of projects, including equipment purchase, coordination and supervision of installation, cost tracking and control, equipment/system start-up, and system documentation
• Direct maintenance and engineering activities
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies to improve operations
• Oversee equipment safety, the safe design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the equipment to ensure an injury-free work environment
• Write and review work orders; prioritise and schedule repairs to ensure continuous production operations cost-effectively
• Ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner with acceptable results
• Source and purchase supplies and materials as needed
• Develop line/equipment layouts, develop system/equipment costs, and benchmarking of standards
• Order equipment and coordinate installation
• Maintain spare parts inventory
• Startup of equipment/systems and assessment of performance versus projected benefit
• Supervise facility engineering and maintenance budget and implementation of capital requests
• Manage the maintenance and engineering teams
• Report to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Engineering in USA

Requirements ;

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 7 years of progressive experience in maintenance/engineering
• 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably with an international organisation
• Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken
• Experience in the food, flavour, or animal feed industries
• Experience in SQF-certified or similar manufacturing environment
• Experience in Kaizen, operational excellence, Lean/Six Sigma, or business operating systems with heavy process orientation required
