Our client is one of the world's premier tropical vegetable seed companies. They are seeking a results-driven and strategic professional to assume the role of Sales & Marketing Representative in Malaysia.

The ideal candidate will drive and grow the business, working directly with customers to build strong strategic relationships. A proven track record in sales, ideally in an agri-related business, is essential. Experience in processing, FMCG, or life sciences sectors would also be considered. Effective communication skills in Mandarin, Malay, and English are highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and reliable forecasts and plans for seed sales and distribution
  • Collect customer orders and ensure timely payment processing
  • Monitor and manage stock levels in seed shops and other customer locations
  • Execute promotional activities in collaboration with seed shops
  • Manage product displays and assist with shop front promotions
  • Train seed shop staff on product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Establish and maintain a network of promotion farmers
  • Set up promotional fields and organise farmer field days
  • Train key farmers on product usage and benefits
  • Maintain contact with key traders to facilitate smooth operations
  • Monitor key fresh markets in the assigned area for trends and insights
  • Maintain a network of farmers for variety testing
  • Execute variety trials as directed by management
  • Prepare and submit standard reports on variety trials and other activities
  • Support the company’s goal of becoming a high-performing organisation

Requirements:

  • University or college degree, preferably in agriculture or related sciences
  • Previous sales experience in the agricultural, processing, FMCG, or life sciences sectors
  • Willingness to work in various locations and ability to travel
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with a diverse range of individuals (farmers, traders, seed shop owners/staff, civil servants, colleagues, and consumers)
  • Ability to present products effectively to individuals or groups and persuade customers
  • Preferably able to speak Mandarin
  • English communication skills are advantageous
  • Possession of a car driver’s license
