Technical Services Specialist (Pet Food, Samutprakarn)

Our client, a multinational manufacturing company specialising in animal health and nutrition, particularly in food palatability, is seeking a Technical Services Scientist to join their team.

This exciting role focuses on supporting customers in the pet food industry to achieve optimal palatability solutions through collaboration, research, and innovation. The position involves managing sample submissions, ensuring accurate product testing, and contributing to new product development while fostering strong relationships with customers and providing technical insights.

ResponsibilitiesTechnical Sales Support

• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and determine palatability requirements
• Work with operations, the International Customer Technical Insight team, and R&D to develop tailored solutions
• Ensure smooth sample submissions and follow-up on customer satisfaction
• Verify the accuracy of product testing conducted by customers

Relationship Building & Collaboration

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with R&D teams, nutritionists, and formulators
• Communicate technical information clearly to customers to ensure understanding
• Engage with customers to resolve issues and foster collaboration
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and feedback

Research & Innovative Support

• Coordinate palatability tests with internal facilities and third-party labs
• Collaborate with R&D to develop products aligned with customer needs
• Prepare and ensure the quality of test samples to meet established standards
• Meet project deadlines and contribute to new product development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science, Master’s in Animal Nutrition, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pet food industry (R&D, Formulation, or Nutrition)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically (Bangkok Metropolitan Region and upcountry)
• Upper-intermediate proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
• Advanced reading skills in English, particularly for technical materials and scientific journals

• Strong presentation and audience engagement skills
• Effective communication abilities in a multicultural environment with diverse customers
• Ability to translate technical knowledge into practical, customer-focused solutions
• Proactive, "can-do" attitude, willing to go beyond typical job responsibilities to meet customer expectations
• Experience in developing and delivering technical presentations, including at conferences
